TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCEMENT IN SMART HEALTHCARE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

Abstract

The integration of advanced technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Blockchain is revolutionizing smart healthcare management systems, offering solutions to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and security in patient care and healthcare operations. This study investigates the transformative role of these technologies in healthcare, focusing on their impact, challenges, and strategies for effective implementation. The objectives are to evaluate the contributions of IoT, AI, and Blockchain in improving healthcare systems, examine the practical challenges of adopting these technologies in resource-constrained settings, and identify strategies to address these barriers. Using a content analysis research design, the study reviews literature and case studies from 2019 to 2024, sourced from academic journals, industry reports, and health organizations. Qualitative and thematic analysis are employed to identify key trends and insights. The findings reveal that IoT enables real-time monitoring and seamless communication, AI enhances diagnostics and personalized care, and Blockchain secures health data and improves supply chain management. However, barriers such as limited infrastructure, financial constraints, and skill gaps impede adoption in under-resourced environments. The study recommends targeted interventions, including investment in healthcare infrastructure, public-private partnerships, capacity building, and the establishment of supportive regulatory frameworks. These measures are critical for maximizing the potential of IoT, AI, and Blockchain in healthcare, particularly in resource-constrained settings. By implementing these strategies, healthcare systems can improve service delivery, expand access, and achieve better patient outcomes.
