The study examined the effects of the 2022 Naira redesign policy on schools within the Gboko Local Government Area of Benue State, Nigeria. The study adopted an ex post facto research design. A sample of 370 persons was randomly taken from six schools for the study. A research questionnaire on the effects of the 2022 naira design policy on schools within Gboko Local Government Area was used to gather data from the six schools. Means and standard deviations were used to answer the three research questions, while T-test was used to test the three hypotheses at 0.05 level of significance. The result revealed that the 2022 naira redesign policy had significant effects on schools within Gboko, Local Government Area of Benue State (T=143.575, df = 369 at p = 0.000 < 0.05), it had significant gains or benefits (T=127.746, df = 369 at p = 0.000 < 0.05), and the pitfalls / lapses associated with the policy had significant influence on its implementation failure (T=113.096, df = 369 at p = 0.000 < 0.05). The results of the study provided valuable insights into the effectiveness of currency redesign as a tool for economic development and will inform future decisions regarding currency design in Nigeria and other countries that affect schools.
