      <abstract>
        <p>The question of whether the Company law protects minority shareholders&#039; interests is answered comprehensively. Unlike the previous Companies Act of 1973, the Companies Act 2008 has introduced a company law that enlightens shareholders&#039; value. The aim of this article is to outline minority shareholder protection under the 2008 Companies Act as shareholder primacy in South African Company law.</p>
